What is HeARTbeat?

HeARTbeat started beating in the hearts of a handful of people a few years ago. A group of people yearned to have some place, some event that would cater specifically for them and help them grow in their different arts, crafts, and general creative indeavours.

Caroline Clark, writer, director and all-round creativity junkie, felt the rhythm hardest of all and was moved in early 2009 to go beyond the dream of having a conference where creative people can meet and interact and learn, and to make it a reality. A group of like-minded artists and creative individuals were assembled and started to work at the creation of the best and most exciting Creativity Conference ever seen.

This group of volunteers has worked hard at making all of the arrangements: from deciding on a theme for each year, designing and creating marketing material, begging for sponsors and donations, nagging industry leaders to speak, coming up with food and decor ideas… you name it, they’ve done it. And now we’ve finalised the arrangements for the second annual conference.

Come the 17th & 18th of February 2012, artists, musicians, writers, actors, singers, directors, photographers, sculptors, dancers, and all other manner of creatively – inclined people will have the opportunity to interact with each other and learn from others that have become successful in their respective fields, while enjoying good food, interesting exhibitors, activities and performances…
